Curriculum Vitae

I have worked in aquatic ecology for over 30 years, including work at several universities and one federal agency, culminating in over 130 publications. My expertise includes aquaculture, marine to freshwater ecology, particularly of plankton autotrophs and vascular plants. My research has included a wide variety of algal/autotrophic bacterial (cyanobacterial) toxins, discovery of euglenoid toxins, aquaculture of freshwater and marine taxa, light/nutrient effects on algal physiology, and modeling.

Algal toxins, aquatic ecosystem ecology, harmful algae, wetlands, aquaculture, microalgal taxonomy and physiology, remote sensing, carbon fixation assessment, aquatic ecosystem stressors, cyanobacteria secondary metabolites
