Exploring The Gulf of Mexico

R/V SONNE OTEGA Cruise

Texas A&M Univesrity-Corpus Christi

The German Research Vessel SONNE will carry out a

mission of scientific exploration in the Gulf of Mexico this

fall. Working with Ian MacDonald and Thomas Naehr, two

scientists from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi as well

as scientists from Mexico and Germany, SONNE will ply the

deep seafloor areas offshore Louisiana, Texas, and

Campeche, Mexico. This 35 day expedition will target

primarily natural oil and gas seeps. Along the way, SONNE

will call at the Port of Corpus Christi. Follow the links on this
