Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for the following tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chemistry position to begin in Fall 2012.
Area of expertise is flexible, but applicants with a research emphasis related to marine biology, marine natural products, environmental science, or geochemistry are especially encouraged. The successful applicant will be expected to establish an externally funded research program supporting an anticipated Chemistry MS program and the existing interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Coastal and Marine System Science and/or Marine Biology. The candidate will be expected to teach at the graduate and undergraduate level. Requirements include a Ph.D. at the time of hire in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a closely related field that includes a minimum of 18 hours of graduate coursework in chemistry. Post-doctoral experience is preferred.
