ExxonMobil Corporation presented Dean Frank Pezold and Chair John Fernandez with a check for $4000.00 to be evenly split between the Computer Science Program in the College of Science & Technology and the Information Systems Program in the College of Business.

Mr. Pete Devillez made the presentation on behalf of ExxonMobil, commenting on the College’s graduates being in the top 25% of all graduates hired by his company. ExxonMobil has been recruiting on Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s campus for more than twelve years and currently has fifteen Science & Technology graduates employed in various capacities within the company. Devillez views Computer Science as an excellent major because of the wide variety of fields in which graduates can work; fields including medicine, petroleum, and energy. Mr. Devillez commented that the Master of Science in Computer Science he received from the College of Science & Technology at TAMU-CC opened many doors for him, allowing a quick ascension to the management position he now holds.
