Camp overview

STEM-Tronics camp gives the opportunity to learn and use state-of-the-art technologies that can be combined to create different Electrical Engineering projects related to Automation, Mechatronics, Wearables and Robotics (for example, LED clothing, fire and car alarm systems, wireless communication networks, sound reactive systems, music devices, mini robots, GPS tracker, etc.). Students will learn to assemble each of the electrical components and make the systems work properly.

 

Camp dates and hours

STEM-Tronics I [REGISTRATION CLOSED]
June 3rd - 7th, 2019
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

 

STEM-Tronics II  [Registration closes Tuesday, May 28]
June 17 – 21, 2019
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

NOTE: STEM-Tronics I and STEM-Tronics II contains different material and activities. 

 

 

Grade requirements

This camp is for students going into 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th grade in the 2019-2020 school year.

 

Program Fees

There is a $25 non-refundable application fee due upon acceptance to the camp.
The fee will be due within one week of the camp acceptance.

 

Additional Documents

Upon acceptance to the camp, the applicant and his/her parent/guardian will be required to complete and submit additional documents required by Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi and the Texas A&M University System including, but not limited to, a Photo/Media release, Waiver, Indemnification, Assumption of Risk and Medical Treatment Authorization, Medical Emergency and Consent for Treatment.

Registration

Registration is now open, please click on the above “Camp Application” link and complete application. Registration will close on April 15, 2019. Parents will be notified of student selection by the first week of May. 

 

Rules to follow

  • Campers must wear comfortable clothing
  • Campers must wear closed toed shoes, flip-flops are NOT allowed
  • A light jacket is always handy as the room tends to feel cold at times
  • Please no electronics (cell phones, video games, etc.) during camp time
